Riding with us today, you won’t just have the opportunity to see the tiny colorful villages of Kolimbari, Afrata and Astratigos while climbing over Rodopos peninsula but you will also be able to taste some of the islands finest product, harvested and processed in their natural environment.
Traveling by the west coast line passing throught the villages of Maleme – Tavronitis and Rapaniana we finally reach Kolimbari, the best known fishing village of the North coast. We will passing by the small fishermen harbor of Kolimbari while we will be paying a visit to the 17th century monastery of Gonia.
Climbing over Spatha Peninsula, the scent of the Aegean Sea and the colorful flowers of the area lead us to the small picturesque village of Afrata where we stop for 20 minutes by the village square. A short journey down the road takes us to Astratigos and after that lies Aspra Nera (White Water) which takes us back to the North Coast. Here we have a 30 minutes stop a factory where they practice the art of producing and bottling some of the best organic and extra virgin olive oil in the world.
